Failure to Communicate

Was travelling this past week and when I got home I discovered my DVR isn’t working. It apparently recorded the shows, since it says it is 33% full, but there are no shows listed for me to watch, so I can’t seem to access the recorded shows. So I decided to call the cable company today.

Me: My DVR isn’t working, the shows seem to be saved, but I can’t access them to watch them.

Cable company lady (asks me some questions): Okay, let’s get a technician appointment set up.

(Several minutes go by as we get an appointment set up…)

Cable company lady: The technician may take your cable box, so make sure to watch anything you have saved on the DVR ahead of time.

Me: Uh, I can’t access the shows, that is why the technician is coming out.

Cable lady: What?

Me: Nevermind.

Cable lady: Would you be open to receiving a customer survey call to ask about our conversation today?

Me: No I can’t talk, I’m going to be watching my DVR.

And then I hung up.

  1. I heard they made a video that explains how to get your DVR working. Feel free to record it and watch it later tonight.
